A quick and easy caramel apple dip made with cream cheese, caramel sauce, and crunchy toppings. Perfect for fall gatherings, potlucks, or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, store-bought or homemade
  • 23 medium apples, sliced (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Fuji)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup toffee bits (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar (optional)
  • Lemon juice, for tossing apple slices

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese. Take the cream cheese out of the fridge about 30 minutes before you want to make this, or microwave it on low power for 15-20 seconds. You want it soft enough to spread easily but not warm or melted.
  2. Spread the cream cheese. Place the softened cream cheese on your serving plate and use a spatula or butter knife to spread it into an even layer, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Pour the caramel sauce. Drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the cream cheese. Start with about 1/3 cup and add more if you like it extra gooey.
  4. Add your toppings. Sprinkle the chopped pecans and toffee bits over the caramel sauce. If using, dust with cinnamon sugar.
  5. Prepare the apple slices. Core and slice your apples into wedges, about 1/4 inch thick. Toss with lemon juice to prevent browning if serving later.
  6. Serve immediately. Arrange the apple slices around the dip on the same plate or on a separate platter. Let sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving.
  7. Garnish (optional). Add a few extra pecans on top, a light drizzle of caramel, or a sprinkle of flaky sea salt.

Notes

For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and thick caramel sauce. If the cream cheese is over-softened, refrigerate for 10 minutes to firm up. The dip is best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Let leftovers sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before serving again.
