These Easy Halloween Popcorn Hands are a fun, no-bake treat made by stuffing disposable gloves with buttery popcorn and candy. Perfect for Halloween parties, they’re customizable, budget-friendly, and ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels or one standard bag of microwave popcorn)
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter (optional but recommended)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (skip if using pre-salted popcorn)
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup mini candy-coated chocolates (like M&Ms, Halloween-themed)
  • 1/2 cup small marshmallows
  • Optional extras: mini pretzel sticks, gummy worms, caramel popcorn, or chopped pumpkin dump cake pieces
  • 1215 disposable food-safe gloves (clear or translucent, powder-free, large size)
  • Kitchen twine or small rubber bands (for sealing wrists)
  • Ribbon or decorative tape (optional, for dressing up wrists)

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn: Pop your popcorn according to package directions or using your preferred method. You want about 12 cups total. Spread it out on a baking sheet to cool completely. Let it cool for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Melt the butter (if using): In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in 15-second increments until fully liquid. Drizzle it over the cooled popcorn and toss gently with your hands to distribute evenly. Add a pinch of salt if needed and toss again.
  3. Mix in the candy: In your large mixing bowl, combine the cooled popcorn with the candy corn, mini chocolates, and marshmallows. Use your hands to gently mix everything together. Be careful not to crush the popcorn.
  4. Prepare the gloves: Take one glove and gently stretch the wrist opening by pulling it outward. Blow a little air into the glove first to separate the fingers.
  5. Fill the fingers first: Take small pinches of the popcorn-candy mixture and push them into each finger of the glove. Use your thumb and forefinger to pack the mixture down into the tips. Each finger should be firmly packed but not so tight that the glove stretches thin.
  6. Fill the palm and wrist: Once the fingers are full, start adding larger handfuls of the mixture into the palm area. Pack it down gently as you go. Fill until the glove is about three-quarters full.
  7. Seal the wrist: Gather the open end of the glove at the wrist and twist it tightly to remove any excess air. Secure with a piece of kitchen twine or a small rubber band. If using twine, wrap it around twice and tie a double knot.
  8. Shape the hand: Gently squeeze and mold the filled glove into a natural hand shape. Bend the fingers slightly inward if you want them to look more realistic and creepy.
  9. Repeat: Continue with the remaining gloves and mixture. You should get about 10-12 hands depending on how full you pack them.
  10. Chill (optional but recommended): Place the finished hands on a baking sheet and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes. This helps the butter set and makes the hands firmer and easier to handle.

Notes

For best results, use popcorn that is at least a day oldโ€”freshly popped is too fluffy. Avoid candies that melt easily. Work in a cool room to prevent butter from making popcorn soggy. Double-seal wrists with a rubber band and twine for security. Store in refrigerator for up to 2 days.
