A quick and easy homemade peach butter with honey and cinnamon, fridge-ready in 30 minutes. Perfect as a cozy spread for toast, biscuits, or yogurt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the peaches by washing, peeling (optional), and chopping into small chunks (about 10 minutes).
  2. Pour chopped peaches into a large saucepan, add 1/4 cup water, and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until peaches soften and release juices (about 10 minutes).
  3. Stir in 1/4 cup honey, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract if using. Mix well.
  4. Lower heat and simmer the mixture for another 10 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking, until thickened and glossy.
  5. Remove from heat and blend to desired texture using an immersion blender or regular blender, leaving some chunks if preferred.
  6. Pour warm peach butter into clean jars or containers, let cool to room temperature, then seal and refrigerate. Keeps up to two weeks.

Notes

Peeling peaches is optional but recommended for smoother texture. Use frozen peaches if fresh are unavailable, thaw and drain excess water. Stir frequently during simmering to prevent burning. For thicker butter, reheat and simmer longer. Vanilla extract is optional but adds a nice floral note. Substitute honey with maple syrup or agave for vegan version. Store in fridge up to two weeks or freeze up to three months.
