These no-bake dirt cups feature a creamy pumpkin pudding layered with crushed Oreo ‘soil’ and playful gummy worms. Perfect for Halloween parties, they come together in minutes and are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1/2 cup cold heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (about 20 cookies)
  • 1 package gummy worms
  • Optional: 4-6 small pumpkin candies or candy corn pumpkins
  • Optional: Green sprinkles or shredded coconut dyed green

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the cold milk and cold heavy cream. Add the instant vanilla pudding mix and whisk vigorously for about 2 minutes until it starts to thicken.
  2. Add the pumpkin puree, powdered sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and fully combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the pudding chills, place the Oreos in a sturdy ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin into fine crumbs with some larger pieces. Alternatively, pulse in a food processor.
  4. Arrange 6-8 clear cups on a tray. Add about 2 tablespoons of crushed Oreos to the bottom of each cup and press down gently.
  5. Spoon the chilled pumpkin pudding over the Oreo layer, filling each cup about halfway. Spread evenly.
  6. Press a few gummy worms into the pudding layer, letting some stick out over the edge of the cup.
  7. Top with another 2-3 tablespoons of crushed Oreos to create the topsoil layer. Create an uneven surface for a natural look.
  8. Decorate with a pumpkin candy on top and optional green sprinkles or an extra gummy worm peeking out.
  9. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For best results, chill the pudding fully before layering to prevent muddy layers. These are even better the next day as the cookies soften. For a dairy-free version, use unsweetened oat milk and dairy-free heavy cream alternative. For gluten-free, use gluten-free chocolate sandwich cookies.
