A quick and easy Halloween charcuterie board that balances sweet, salty, creamy, and crunchy elements. Perfect for parties, this board comes together in under 20 minutes and features candy corn paired with sharp cheddar, prosciutto, and more.

Ingredients

  • Sharp cheddar, sliced into triangles
  • Brie wheel, whole
  • Aged gouda, cubed
  • Goat cheese log, sliced into rounds
  • Prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • Salami, sliced into rounds
  • Pepperoni sticks, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Candy corn, about 1 cup
  • Chocolate-covered pretzels
  • Orange and black jelly beans
  • Mini peanut butter cups
  • Pumpkin-shaped crackers
  • Pita chips, plain
  • Breadstick grissini
  • Red grapes, in small clusters
  • Apple slices, green
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Plastic spiders and eyeballs (optional)
  • Black and orange sprinkles (optional)
  • Mini gummy worms (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your cheeses (5 minutes). Take the brie out of the fridge 30 minutes before you start. Slice the sharp cheddar into triangles about 1/4 inch thick. Cube the aged gouda into 1/2-inch pieces. Slice the goat cheese log into rounds about 1/2 inch thick. Arrange them in separate clusters on the board, leaving space between each type. I put the brie right in the center because it’s the softest and people gravitate toward it.
  2. Arrange the meats (3 minutes). Fold the prosciutto slices into loose ribbons—just grab a slice and scrunch it up gently. Place them in a pile near one edge of the board. Fan out the salami rounds in a overlapping line. Scatter the pepperoni stick pieces around the edges. Don’t overcrowd the meats; they should look intentional, not dumped.
  3. Add the sweet elements (4 minutes). Pour the candy corn into one small bowl and the jelly beans into another. Place these bowls on the board, tucking them between cheese clusters. Scatter the chocolate-covered pretzels in a zigzag pattern across the board. Place the mini peanut butter cups in small groups of two or three. This creates little ‘treasure’ spots for guests to discover.
  4. Fill in the crunchy spots (3 minutes). Arrange the pumpkin crackers in a cluster near the brie. Stack the pita chips in a small pile opposite the meats. Break the breadstick grissini in half and scatter them like little bones around the board. I like to point them toward the center like spokes on a wheel.
  5. Add the fresh elements (3 minutes). Tuck small clusters of red grapes into gaps between the cheese and crackers. Arrange the apple slices in a fan pattern near the edge of the board. Place the rosemary sprigs strategically around the board—they add height and that Halloween ‘forest’ vibe. I stick one sprig right into the brie like a little tree.
  6. Decorate for spookiness (2 minutes). Gently place plastic spiders on the cheese or crawling over the grapes. Tuck gummy worms between the crackers so they look like they’re emerging from the board. Sprinkle a few black and orange sprinkles over the brie. Stand back and admire your work—this is the fun part.
  7. Final check and serve. Step back and look at your board from all angles. Fill any empty gaps with extra crackers or grapes. Make sure everything is accessible. Serve immediately or cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 hours. If refrigerating, let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving to let the cheeses soften.

Notes

Let cheeses sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Use toothpicks for candy corn to avoid sticky fingers. Prep all ingredients before arranging for a cleaner look. Garnish with rosemary for aroma and visual appeal.
