Light & Spooky Halloween Punch: Easy Orange Vanilla Recipe

light and spooky halloween punch - featured image

A light, creamy, and naturally colored Halloween punch made with orange juice, vanilla, and coconut milk. It’s festive, refreshing, and surprisingly wholesome—perfect for parties without the sugar overload.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups orange juice (fresh-squeezed or store-bought; preferably not-from-concentrate)
  • 2 cups vanilla almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 cup coconut milk (canned, full-fat)
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 3 cups sparkling water (plain or lemon-flavored)
  • Ice ring or large ice cubes (optional: silicone skull or ghost mold)
  • Optional: 1-2 drops natural orange food coloring
  • Garnishes: Orange slices, star anise, or edible glitter

Instructions

  1. Chill your ingredients: Place the orange juice, almond milk, coconut milk, and sparkling water in the fridge for at least 2 hours before starting.
  2. Make the ice ring (optional, but fun): The night before, fill your silicone skull mold or bundt pan with filtered water. Add a few orange slices, star anise, or edible flowers for a spooky touch. Freeze solid. Pro tip: Boil the water first and let it cool—this makes the ice crystal-clear.
  3. Whisk the base: In your punch bowl or pitcher, combine the orange juice, vanilla almond milk, and coconut milk. Whisk vigorously until the coconut milk is fully incorporated—it tends to separate, so don’t skip this step. You should see a smooth, pale orange liquid.
  4. Add sweetness and vanilla: Stir in the honey (or maple syrup) and vanilla extract. Taste it here. If you want it sweeter, add another tablespoon of honey. If you want more vanilla warmth, add another teaspoon.
  5. Chill the base: Cover the bowl or pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld. Honestly, it tastes even better the next day, so you can make the base a day ahead.
  6. Add the fizz: Just before serving, pour in the sparkling water. Stir gently—you want to keep the bubbles. If you stir too hard, you’ll end up with a flat punch.
  7. Assemble and serve: Carefully place your ice ring or large ice cubes into the punch. The ice ring will float, and the garnishes will peek through. Ladle into glasses and garnish with an orange slice or a sprinkle of edible glitter.

Notes

Chill all ingredients beforehand to prevent ice from melting too quickly. Add sparkling water just before serving to keep the fizz. The base can be made up to 3 days in advance. For a spookier look, use a skull-shaped ice ring or add dry ice (food-grade, handled carefully).
