This spooky, slime-green punch is a conversation starter that tastes like a bright, citrusy tropical surprise. Made with limeade, pineapple, and a secret ingredient for a silky texture, it comes together in about five minutes and is perfect for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (12 oz) frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple in juice, undrained
  • 1 liter lemon-lime soda, chilled
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup lime juice, freshly squeezed (about 2 limes)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream, slightly softened
  • Green gummy worms (for garnish)
  • Plastic spider rings (for garnish)
  • Ice ring or large ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Make the Ice Ring (Optional): The night before or at least 4 hours before your party, combine 1 cup of the cold water with 1/4 cup of the limeade concentrate in a bundt pan or ring mold. Add a few green gummy worms or plastic spiders. Freeze until solid, at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Combine the Wet Ingredients: In a large punch bowl or pitcher, pour the thawed limeade concentrate. Add the entire can of crushed pineapple, including all the juice.
  3. Add the Juices: Pour in the 1/2 cup of pineapple juice and the 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lime juice. Stir until the limeade concentrate is fully dissolved and the mixture is a uniform, chunky green color.
  4. Incorporate the ‘Slime’ Agent: If using vanilla ice cream, add the softened ice cream and whisk vigorously until completely incorporated. The punch will turn from translucent to opaque, swampy green.
  5. Add the Fizz: Just before serving, slowly pour in the chilled lemon-lime soda and the remaining 4 cups of cold water. Stir gently to combine, keeping the carbonation.
  6. Chill and Serve: If using an ice ring, unmold it by running the outside of the pan under warm water for a few seconds. Float the ice ring in the punch bowl. Ladle into cups, making sure each serving gets some crushed pineapple pulp. Garnish with gummy worms or plastic spiders.

Notes

The punch looks its best for the first hour. For a long party, make a second batch and keep it in the fridge, adding soda and ice just before refilling. The base mixture can be made up to 24 hours in advance. For a brighter green color, add 2-3 drops of neon green gel food coloring.
