This rich, fudgy brownie dip is made with Greek yogurt for a lighter twist on a classic holiday dessert. Decorated like a Christmas tree with pretzel sticks and sprinkles, it’s a festive, no-bake treat that comes together in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240g) plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-processed preferred)
  • 3/4 cup (90g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup (45g) mini chocolate chips
  • 20 pretzel sticks
  • 2 tablespoons green sprinkles or crushed pistachios
  • 1 tablespoon red sprinkles
  • 1 tablespoon white sprinkles
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
  • Pretzel chips, graham crackers, apple slices, or strawberries for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, add 1 cup (240g) of plain Greek yogurt at room temperature.
  2. In a separate small bowl, sift together 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder and 3/4 cup (90g) powdered sugar.
  3. Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients to the Greek yogurt in three batches, stirring with a rubber spatula until combined.
  4. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon of salt until smooth and glossy.
  5. Gently fold in 1/4 cup (45g) of mini chocolate chips, reserving a small handful for decoration.
  6. Transfer the dip to a serving platter or shallow bowl and spread into a rough Christmas tree shape (wide at the bottom, tapering to a point at the top).
  7. Break 3-4 pretzel sticks in half and arrange them at the bottom of the tree shape to form a trunk, pressing gently into the dip.
  8. Insert the remaining pretzel sticks into the dip at slight angles from bottom to top to form branches.
  9. Sprinkle green sprinkles or crushed pistachios over the entire tree shape, then scatter red and white sprinkles on top for ornaments. Press lightly to adhere.
  10. If desired, dust lightly with powdered sugar using a fine-mesh sieve for a snowy effect.
  11. Serve immediately with pretzel chips, graham crackers, apple slices, or strawberries.

Notes

For best texture, use room temperature Greek yogurt. Sift cocoa powder and powdered sugar to avoid lumps. The dip can be made up to 2 days in advance; add pretzel sticks and decorations just before serving. For a dairy-free version, use thick coconut yogurt and dairy-free chocolate chips. The dip tastes even better the next day as flavors meld.
